Absolutely not! Design|PxD is completely FREE to attend. We believe in removing financial barriers to technology education and innovation. The event, including meals, mentorship, and resources, is provided at no cost to participants. Our goal is to make this opportunity accessible to everyone, regardless of their economic background.
Please bring your laptop if you have one (though we'll have some available to share if you don't), a notebook, and most importantly—your ideas! We recommend bringing a charger, a water bottle, and comfortable clothes as you'll be creating and collaborating throughout the day. Everything else, including meals, internet, and necessary software, will be provided at the venue.
Yes, absolutely! Design|PxD is specifically designed to be accessible to non-coders. We'll have mentors available to help you translate your ideas into reality, regardless of your technical experience. Since AI is the framework that we are using throughout this hackathon, we'll provide resources for no-code tools as well as support for those who want to learn coding. The focus is on creativity and problem-solving, not technical expertise.
Design|PxD will take place in Accra, Ghana. The exact venue details will be announced soon. We're securing a location that's accessible by public transportation and will provide a comfortable environment for collaboration. Registered participants will receive detailed location information and directions via email before the event.
Both options are available! You're welcome to come with a pre-formed team (maximum of 4 members) or join as an individual. For those coming alone, we'll have a team formation session at the beginning of the event where you can meet other participants and form teams based on interests and complementary skills. It's a great opportunity to make new connections!
You're encouraged to build anything that interests you! While we'll suggest some challenge areas related to local community needs, sustainability, education, or health, you're free to pursue any idea you're passionate about. Projects can range from mobile apps and websites to games and creative technology solutions. The key is to build something that excites you and potentially solves a real problem.
Yes! We'll have various prize categories to recognize outstanding projects, including innovation, social impact, design, and technical achievement. However, we believe the most valuable takeaways will be the skills you learn, the connections you make, and the confidence you build in your ability to create using AI agents. All participants will receive certificates of participation and continued support for their projects after the event.
We welcome support in various forms! Organizations can sponsor the event, provide mentors, offer prizes, or donate equipment. Individuals can volunteer as mentors, help with event logistics, or spread the word.
